Updates on Live-Streaming
I have heard it suggested that Catholic Parishes live-stream Masses on-line for parishioners. I have chosen not to do that, for a variety of reasons. Mainly, my reluctance stems from the fact that there are a number of websites that are setup for live-streaming the liturgy that offer much better production value and quality then the Parish could ever offer. EWTN, Bishop Barron (Word on Fire), and the Diocese of Cleveland all offer superior prayer experiences. Catholic Parishes are simply not setup for these kinds of situations.
In the mean time, I offer the following ideas to supplement your prayer life:
- Pray the Rosary.
- Pray the Liturgy of the Hours.
- Pray the Stations of the Cross.
- Read and meditate on the Scriptures, especially the daily Mass readings.
- Use your smart phone to download apps to guide or supplement your prayer life. I suggest apps such as Laudate, ibreviary, Catholic Bible, and Word on Fire (Bishop Robert Barron).
- Pray at Eucharistic Adoration at the appointed days and hours. The Saint Anthony of Padua Eucharistic Chapel is open for prayer Monday-Thursday 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Saint Teresa of Avila Church is open for Adoration on Wednesday and Friday 9:00 AM to Noon.
- Pray at the St. Teresa of Avila outdoor Shrine.
These are just a few suggestions while we all navigate this very unusual time in our history.
May God Bless You All.
